SeaBreeze & Lime Lounge
The SeaBreeze & Lime Lounge is a welcome addition to Villa Jewel on the Rocks Resort. It offers a variety of domestic and local beers & liquors, and very enthusiastic bartenders. The lounge is located adjacent to the dining room and welcome lobby. It is on the main level and the large area is open to the pool deck with a scenic view of the Caribbean Sea in the background.
It is called the SeaBreeze & Lime Lounge for two reasons. First, when you sit on the stools at the bar you can feel the gentle breeze off the Caribbean Sea – SeaBreeze. Second reason, when we were first exploring the property the point where we stopped, which is approximately where the pool is situated, we found a lime tree, therefore, Lime. SeaBreeze & Lime Lounge seemed like the correct name.
Once the lounge area was being completed, we discovered that we did not have enough storage space. All we had available was a bathroom next door and space under the staircase. We robbed space from the men’s bathroom next door and used half of the original bathroom for storage space. Lucky for us there was this space for us to use. We still need more shelving but the bar seems to run quite efficiently.
The bar counter is a polished concrete finish. This is something new to the area. Ralston was not familiar with concrete countertops but once we discussed it he was all in. He did a fabulous job completing the countertop and made sure it has a smooth, shiny finish. Some cedar added to the front softened up the hard finishes. As well, the addition of wicker bar stools completed the look we were hoping to achieve. The wicker stools, chairs, sofas were all crafted by a local craftsman we call Wickerman. He would bring his finished work tied onto his small car. I am not sure how he managed to get it to Villa Jewel all perfectly safe.
Our main bartender, Saskia, is fabulous at her job. She is a great bartender. She is a beautiful young woman with the biggest smile around. She has a wonderful singing voice and she often entertains our guests with her songs. Her enthusiasm and devotion to her job is remarkable. She is always willing to help the other staff or keep the guests company and always with a fresh drink in their hand. Hard working, fun loving and devotion to her job are a magic combination in Saskia.
