Mineral Water Swimming Pool
Villa Jewel Resort is very fortunate to have a mineral water swimming pool. A shallow entry pool that has crystal clear healthy mineral water and overlooks the sparkling Caribbean Sea. No chemicals are used in the pool! The water is changed regularly and refilled with fresh clear mineral water. This water is smooth and silky and so very healthy for you.

There are many reasons a mineral water pool is better for your. First, and most important, no chemicals are used in the pool. Many chemicals are put into pools to keep them clean, contaminant and bacteria free. Chlorine is one of those many chemicals. Not having to use chlorine means less unpleasantness. There are fewer chemical odours, less skin and eye irritations, and reduced chance of adverse reaction to the chemicals. We don’t use chemicals and we change the water regularly. Mineral pools are more beneficial for young children, elderly people and those who suffer with asthma and chlorine sensitivity.
Your first dip in the pool and for every one after, you will experience the water to have a gentle, silky feeling against your skin. There will be little or no irritation to your eyes. Your hair will not smell like chlorine and every time you go in will be a healthy spa treatment. The minerals in the water will naturally detoxify and balance your body, which means it can help to relieve stress, anxiety, aches and pains, and provides your muscles with a boost of energy.
Construction Begins!
We were lucky to find a mineral spring very close to the property. Mineral water comes from a natural source of water that lies underneath the ground and is enriched with various nutrients. Most commonly, they include zinc, calcium, potassium and magnesium. The water is softer and your skin is treated by left over trace minerals to retain moisture and decelerate wrinkles. It cleanses and brightens your skin giving you a healthy glow.
The water is pumped in from an underground source and comes out crystal clear. We change is regularly, often weekly, if Villa Jewel Resort has a lot of guests. How many other resorts do this?
First fill
Our pool is shallow entry to allow you an easier access. We have seating around so you can sit back and enjoy your mineral water spa treatment. There is a huge pool deck with room for plenty of lounging chairs. A couple sea grape trees provide some much need shade in the afternoon so you can relax out of the direct sunlight. The view from the pool is incredible, as you can stare out to the sparkling Caribbean Sea and watch for local fishermen, dolphins or just enjoy the roar of the Sea. All of our rooms have a view of the mineral water pool and the Caribbean Sea. If you stay in one of the two rooms on the main level, you are just feet from the pool.
Filling the Pool
I can vouch for the healing effects of the mineral water. During one of our visits I broke a bone in my foot. Villa Jewel Resort was still under construction and we had no railing on the stairs yet. Papa Poo and I were staying on the second level in the Emerald Room. I limped up and down those stairs multiple times every day. My relief was the mineral water pool. I would float in the pool with my foot in the water for relief. The water helped reduce the swelling and the pain. My family doctor could not believe I spent a week walking with a broken bone in my foot. I know the mineral water soaks got me through the week.
